A bit magic, a bit biology, the wholly unique texture of Birdseye Maple is caused by adverse growing conditions of some American Hard Maple trees, in which it sprouts many new buds in an attempt to grow. Such hardship yields a beautiful, rare lumber. 

Sealed with pure tung oil; a durable, food-safe, and environmentally friendly finish that hardens deep in the wood fibers. Easily refreshed with a cutting board wax of your choosing.

Natural variations in color and visual texture lead to each looking one of a kind. The board pictured here is one such example of what you’ll receive.
