Dave has been asked about a rum journal for many years - no surprise given the drink's immense popularity and unique history. But it wasn't a passion of his, so he put it on his ever-growing list of potential book ideas and promptly forgot about it. That is, until a fateful, frosty night in an amazing Chicago cider bar. Making small talk, bar manager and super rum nerd Ambrosia Borowski asked him an all-too-familiar question. "Do you have a rum one?" I explained the situation, and with a twinkle in her eye, she disappeared behind the bar, returning seconds later holding three small glasses. "Try this ... and this. And this." And so began their sweet, sweet collaboration, the result of which is 33 R(h)ums.

It’s tough to hold a notepad in one hand, a pencil in the other, and have another hand left for your glass. Taking notes with 33 R(h)ums is as simple as checking a few boxes and entering a few basic facts.

The flavor wheel in 33 R(h)ums can be used to quickly recall a rum's unique flavor long after consumption. For low values of the flavor, fill in dots near the wheel’s center.

Eco-Friendly

33 R(h)ums is made with 100% recycled papers sourced in the Pacific Northwest. Interior pages are 100% post-consumer recycled content and covers are 85% post-consumer recycled content and 15% recycled content. The booklets are printed using US-grown soy-based inks in sunny Portland, Oregon. A teeny, tiny amount of rum is added to the ink in each edition, noted on the back.
