Store Manager (for upcoming MadeHere Seattle Location)

General Position Summary
Plan, present, and execute operational duties, strategies and policy at MadeHere
SEA’s Seattle store. Manage store functions that fall under the operational,
logistical and sales processes.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Develop operational programs and strategies for daily execution and
presentation to General Management/ownership. Information will focus on sales,
inventory management, staff management, and general logistics created to
enhance business within MadeHere SEA’s Seattle store.

Present analysis of operational floor space including plans/strategies that are
designed to maximize and enhance the presentation of products within the store
space, and methods to most effectively manage stockroom.

Participation in weekly management meetings.

Logistical coordination of store events designed to enhance community
involvement, raise awareness of MadeHere PDX, and develop new customers.
Present ideas and concepts that fall within the MadeHere SEA “opportunity
base”- either actual or unrealized.

Develop and manage reporting, including: Sales, product performance, brand
performance, category performance, and other performance related analysis as

Participation in the development of sales and marketing strategies.
Involvement in staff scheduling and HR support functions.

Conduct quarterly and seasonal line profitability analysis by brand and product

Secondary Functions​:
Maintain positive open lines of communication with all MadeHere management,
staff, vendors, subcontractors and others in order to contribute to the smooth flow
of information, ongoing development of business relationships and efficient
operation of the organization.

Support sales efforts through sales/margin analysis, communication of seasonal
master matrix data and the creation of dynamic product assortments and

Work with team to investigate and uncover new products, potentially outside the
normal scope, that present the opportunity to be appropriately marketed within
MadeHere SEA.

Maintain a high level of store standards.

Work closely with vendors to ensure: maximization of quality, timely
manufacturing/delivery and the implementation of a strategic approach to all
manufacturer relationships/processes.

Demonstrate ability to act as a leader among team members, departments and
the organization as a whole.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Scope​:
Job consists of recurring work situations with occasional variations. Job involves
a moderate to high degree of complexity. Position demands a high level of
accuracy. Candidate is an individual and team contributor, responsible for
following established practices and procedures. Duties are sometimes performed
independently with moderate supervision and in those cases work is checked or
verified sometimes visually and/or by results. Decisions are made within
established departmental guidelines. Position has high visibility due to directly
impacting finances, business codes, assortment, deliveries, profitability and
customer service. Errors in judgment or work performance directly affect sales,
profitability and relationships with vendor and operational partners.

Supervisory Responsibility​:
Position involves the co-supervision of store sales staff.

Interpersonal Contacts​:
Contacts are normally made with others both inside and outside the organization.
Internal contacts are unlimited and include general management, ownership,
co-management and sales staff. External contacts may include vendors,
customers, sales representatives and subcontractors. Interactions tend to focus
on information exchange, problem solving, explanation, discussion and
interpretations. Contacts and communication can contain confidential/sensitive
information. Candidate initiates contacts on his/her own with 50% being by
phone/email and the remainder via face-to-face interaction.

Specific Job Skills​:
Possess basic knowledge of the following: Business finance, operations, product
line management, merchandising, buying, planning, retail sales analysis and
marketing. Understanding of sales representative responsibilities and retail sales
reporting is helpful. Ability to perform detailed tasks, which reflect a high degree
of accuracy. Requires ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability
to deal effectively with work and time pressure in the efficient and effective
accomplishment of job requirements. Excellent organizational skills and attention
to detail required. Mental ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with
accounts, vendors and other company personnel. Physical ability to use
telephone, computer hardware/software including keyboard, type, sit and stand
for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Education and/or Experience​:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in finance, product/business
management/marketing or sales and 7-10 years experience in the retail or
wholesale mfg. industry, preferably in sales, operations or finance roles.

Job Conditions​:
Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week
during peak season or rush projects. Position does not involve travel at this time.
Job pressure exists in the balancing of a wide variety of projects with conflicting
deadlines and managing personal time to ensure timely completion of projects.
